Club Drugs

Club drugs hit the club scene about five or six years ago with a lasting impact on our younger generation, because with club drugs came a whole subculture. Club drugs come in many different shapes, sizes, and effects. Club drugs as a whole, whether its mdma or ketamine, can cause a drug problem or can lead to severe side effects and addiction. These club drugs claim the lives of young people more and more each year. Club drugs have been able to permeate all social constructs and find their way into suburban kids hands all the way to the techno clubs of West Hollywood.

These drugs do not discriminate. They will kill anyone who becomes addicted to them. Club drugs are very addictive. The reason they are as addictive as they are is because they all pack a powerful punch, and this of course leads to the same reason that they are as fatal as they have been proven to be.

The main club drugs are ecstasy (mdma), ketamine, ryphnol, and GHB. These all bring different effects, and they are all widely accepted by the club scene. These club drugs also bring with them different side effects, which are all extremely damaging. Ecstasy, for example, is one of the most brain cell destroying drugs on the club circuit. Ketamine will emotionally destroy someone faster than any of the four, and ryhpnol causes such a strong reaction to he mind that people have no recollection of the night before. GHB has one of the most dangerous side effects, this side effect is called instant death. This means that depending on the chemical makeup of the individuals body it can react in such a way that it can instantly kill the person.

Club drugs all have different effects and adverse side effects. They are accepted into the club scene because there effects do have one thing in common- they all enhance the club experience. This means they all target about the same demographic. This group of club drug users are more than likely late teen, early twenties energetic, optimistic youth. The type of people that make the most positive impact on the earth later in life. Unfortunately this impact is cut short due to bad decision making.

With one dose of GHB they could be found dead. Extended use of MDMA will kill millions of brain cells, leaving the person intellectually non functional. The others do just us much damage. And large doses of any are fatal. The fatalities are not coming down. As said before the death rate due to club drugs is rising year after year. Leaving the rave scene scattered with body bags and broken homes.
